Aries – En midtsommernatts drøm is inspired by photos from the British design agency The Dark Angel, used with the photographers' permission. Their visual universe draws inspiration from Gothic art, the Renaissance, fairy tales, and dark romanticism, elements that form the foundation of this work.
The subject represents the zodiac sign Aries, though not through strength or conflict. Instead, we encounter a more vulnerable figure. Her gown flows and dissolves into the water, as though it is slowly becoming part of its surroundings. She wears no armor. No mask. Only silence.
The work is built through countless layers of watercolor pencils and graphite. The translucent layers create depth and subtle transitions, while the graphite adds contrast and precision. The process is slow and deliberate, with each layer contributing to the whole without overpowering the one beneath it.
